Entry Information for Filmmakers

The West County Film Festival is now accepting entries for the October 17-19, 2008 festival. All film submissions must be postmarked by July 1, 2008 and meet the entry requirements below.

Submission Guidelines

Entries may not publicly screen in West Sonoma County prior to 10/17/08.
Submissions must have been completed after 01/01/06.
(2) VHS or DVD (Region 1) preview screeners are required.
Please label all tapes / DVDs and shipping box with film title.
While every precaution will be taken to safeguard all materials submitted, the West County Film Festival cannot accept or assume responsibility in the event of loss or damage en route or otherwise.
All submitted materials become the property of the West County Film Festival and won't be returned without a SASE.
Shipping / tracking information should be monitored through the shipping company.

If your film is accepted, submitted material may be copied and utilized for the purpose of promoting your film.
Exhibition Formats: 35mm and DVD (Region 1). Other formats offered will be based on filmmaker demand and the availability of equipment.
The filmmaker is responsible for shipping the exhibition copy of the film to the festival by the requested deadline.
The West County Film Festival will return or forward the exhibition copy of the film using ground shipping and its carrier of choice. All additional expedited shipping costs are the responsibility of the filmmaker.

Attending the Festival

While we would love to provide all of our filmmakers with travel, lodging and transportation expenses, we are a small, non-profit film festival without the sponsorship needed to make that possible. We will, however, make every effort to provide filmmakers with discounted rates on airfare, hotels and rental cars, and look forward to the day when we can completely pay the way for all of our visiting filmmakers.
