"Freeheld" has been Awarded an Academy Award
"Freeheld", a documentary
short that played in the 2007 West County Film Festival, won the Academy Award for Best
Documentary Short Subject. "Freeheld" chronicles the fight of New Jersey Police Lieutenant, Laurel
Hester, to win survivorship benefits for her partner before she dies of cancer. For more information about the
